If there is one truth I know in this world, it's that Bernese mountain dogs absolutely love the cold and snow. But they also really love treats. So what happens when they have to choose between both? That question was put to the test in a recent TikTok we came across. The 30-second video comes from user @akronberners and is captioned with, "If you know, well, then you know. No amount of coaxing will bring them inside swiftly when it snows."

Oh, we know. This particular video starts with the creator of the video, and presumably the human parent to the two Bernese mountain dogs, opening a door to the outside world, revealing a ton of snow and the two Berners lying in the snow. One dog, in particular, looks like they've been out there a while, as they are almost entirely covered in fresh snow.

There's No Getting These Two Inside

If you know, well, then you know. 😂 No amount of coaxing will bring them inside swiftly when it snows ❄️

"Does anybody want to come in?" the person asks, as the Bernese mountain dog, covered in snow, looks down, trying to totally blend in and become completely invisible. They hilariously put their head all the way into the snow while slowly and casually looking in the opposite direction from the person and the front door. The other just kind of looks away.

"Dara? Anybody want to come in right now?" the person asks, trying again. Both Bernese mountain dogs do that thing that Berners do, where they don't want to totally ignore you because they love you too much, but also don't want to fully engage because they know what you're asking of them, and they just can't do it. "I have treats," the person continues. No response. "Does anybody," the person begins again, now laughing at the ridiculousness of the two Bernese mountain dogs.

"No? I have treats, though," the person continues. "Do you guys want to come in for a treat?" The Berner, with their head totally on the ground, perks up. "Maybe?" the person again asks. "Maybe you do?" Just as she's getting ready to give up and say maybe she'll revisit the idea, the closest one with their head on the ground gets up and walks towards the door. Success! Kind of. That one walks in, but the other chooses the snow over the treat.

Bernese mountain dogs, of course, absolutely love the cold and snow. Often referred to as gentle giants, they're also very loving dogs and even give out hugs from time to time.
