Goldie, short for Golden Oreo, is a 4-year-old Nigerian dwarf goat. On Thursday, she spent the day with firefighters from the Colorado Springs Fire Department as they worked to put out the Rock Creek Fire in Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Lindsey Glader, Goldie's owner, said it’s "really awesome to see a spark of joy. And it's kind of a hard season with a lot of fires and a lot of damage and heartbreak. So it's fun to get a little glimpse of hope with her and all this and even see it on the firefighters' faces.” The 1.5-acre fire was 50% contained on Thursday.
