Wet conditions could dampen outdoor celebrations for Saturday's coronation in London.

R​ain showers could dampen outdoor celebrations for S​aturday's coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey in London.

Coronation ceremony will have an outdoor procession: The ceremony is expected to begin at 11 a.m. London time (6 a.m. EDT). An outdoor procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey and then back to Buckingham Palace will have viewing spots for the public.

T​he weather player: A low-pressure system in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean will swing a frontal system through the United Kingdom on Saturday.

W​hat to expect Saturday: At least light rain is expected to accompany the front with southerly winds blowing around 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures should be in the upper 50s for much of the event.

Dry conditions return on Sunday: Once the front passes through, dry conditions will return for celebrations planned the following day in London. Temperatures should warm into the 60s during the afternoon, with decreasing cloudiness.
