If you are traveling the next few days, you could experience a few weather-induced travel delays, mainly across the Eastern half of the country, while record warmth dominates the West.

A low pressure system and its cold front will shift east on Wednesday, bringing rain and storms from New England to the Carolinas by Wednesday night. If you'll be in the Northeast hubs such as New York or D.C. Wednesday night, know that there could be some weather-related delays. Showers will remain for the Northeast Thursday and Friday. This could lead to occasional flight delays, as well as some wet commutes.

Florida will continue to see showers and storms through Wednesday. These could lead to some minor airport delays in a few locations as well as heavy downpours for those commuting by road or traveling on vacation.

For the Pacific Northwest, scattered showers will impact the area lasting through the week.

Keep in mind that the trees and grasses are in full swing in many areas, as well. Pollen sufferers will want to account for that in any outdoor plans. You can see how far north the pollen has gotten in maps at the end of this article.
