Watching Southeast Coast For Potential Tropical Development

It’s three days into hurricane season and computer models are hinting that an area of low pressure will form near the Southeast coast later this week. There is potential for this low to gain some tropical or subtropical characteristics if it remains offshore long enough, but the chance looks low at this time. Either way, heavy rain and rough surf will likely impact beaches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida through the end of the week.
