Forecast

Highs in the 100s will grip the south-central states in the first full week of September.

The intense heat we've dealt with this summer is making a last stand in the south-central states.

High temperatures in portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, northern Louisiana and Kansas will surge into the 100s and upper 90s through the first half of the week. Some cities will be within reach of daily record high temperatures.

By Friday or Saturday, a cold front will finally provide some welcome relief from the sultry conditions.
