Sunday Night Scenario

A series of disturbances embedded in the jet stream will be crossing Europe – and particularly western and northern Europe – over the next 7 to 10 days with rain and occasionally blustery winds.

Occasional thunderstorms are possible as well. On Sunday, several tornadoes touched down in parts of southern England and northern France.

Computer forecast models differ on the details, but there could be a stronger low-pressure system in the Sunday-Monday time frame (Oct. 27-28) affecting northwest Europe, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, and possibly parts of France. Depending on the details, that system could bring areas of strong to locally damaging winds, especially in coastal areas, along with heavy rain, very rough seas and travel disruptions.

The U.K. Met Office, their equivalent of our National Weather Service, has issued several warnings for heavy rain in the southwest part of England this week.
