An atmospheric river is impacting the Pacific Northwest, bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds to the region. Flood watches are in place until Saturday, where rainfall of 3-5 inches is possible in the affected areas. High wind alerts are also in place for parts of the region, with gusts up to 50 mph possible and local gusts over 60 mph across the highest elevations. These winds could cause power outages and downed tree limbs. There are also high surf advisories in place across the coastlines, where large breaking waves over 20 feet are possible.
