The first major heat wave of the summer begins in the Plains and Midwest on Friday, and lasts through the weekend. The Northeast will see the heat and humidity peak early next week, with the heat wave lasting into Wednesday and Thursday for some. More than 100 daily record highs will be in jeopardy Monday and Tuesday across the Northeast, as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 90s. Feels-like temperatures could reach 110 degrees several days in a row, so please try to limit your time outdoors. Overnight lows in the 70s and 80s won’t offer much relief at night.
