Flood Threat Persists Along Florida’s East Coast Beaches

2 hours agoUpdated: April 8, 2026, 7:02 am EDTPublished: April 8, 2026, 7:02 am EDT

The flood watch continues along the east coast of Florida from Daytona Beach to Miami through Wednesday night. An additional 1-3 inches will be possible with isolated totals as high as 5 inches. Rain chances linger Thursday, but we start to dry out by Friday and into the weekend. Outside of any rain, strong easterly winds potentially up to 45 mph are leading to rough surf and a high rip current risk, so please stay out of the water. Watch this video for the latest update.
