Winter weather alerts have been issued from the Dakotas to Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain will change over to snow from west to east across central and southern Minnesota Tuesday afternoon and evening. This snow will lead to a tricky Wednesday morning commute in the Twin Cities, their first measurable snowfall of the season. The heaviest snow accumulations Tuesday night into Wednesday will be in the Lake Superior snowbelts of far northern Wisconsin and the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where over a foot of snow is expected. Gusty winds and blowing snow will reduce visibility and make holiday travel difficult or impossible. Watch this video to see more on timing and forecast totals.
