Pizza Ovens Helping America’s Struggling Coal Industry

Old-fashioned coal-fired pizza ovens are giving a boost to a struggling coal industry in the U.S. Blaschak Coal Corp. in Pennsylvania sold a record-breaking 382,000 tons of coal in 2018, largely thanks to a growing demand for centuries-old cooking style using anthracite coal that is toxic to the environment.
