Japanese knotweed is bad for home values, takes years to kill and is becoming more of a nuisance as a result of climate change. In the U.K., sellers are legally required to disclose the presence of this plant to potential property buyers. While there are no official laws in the U.S., homeowners should consider the cost and time needed for eradication.
