One year ago this week, Winter Storm Enzo made history as one of the most extraordinary weather events ever recorded along the Gulf Coast. New Orleans measured 8 inches of snow — its heaviest snowfall in modern history — while Milton, Florida, shattered a 70-year-old state record with nearly 10 inches. The unprecedented storm brought blizzard warnings to Louisiana and Texas, caused the Mobile Civic Center roof to collapse and created surreal scenes of skiers on Bourbon Street and snow-covered Gulf beaches from Houston to the Florida Panhandle.
