A group of firefighters in Rocky Ridge, Alabama, used some good old fashioned ingenuity to rescue a cat stuck extremely high up in a tree.

“Many times circumstances don’t make cat rescues possible,” a spokesperson for the department said on social media, “but today it worked out. It never ceases to amaze the ingenuity our members can come with to get the job done.” Photos shared by the department showed how firefighters had engineered a pulley system to allow a rescue basket to glide up into the treetops, providing the distressed feline with an appropriate way out of their terrifying predicament.

The rescue was a success, as shown by a happy picture shared by the department that showed five members of their crew smiling with the rescued cat (who is photographed looking off to their side, likely plotting out their next great escapade). As the fire department spokesperson concluded, “Great work from our crews today, with a great outcome!”
