First responders in southwestern Ohio arrived quickly on the scene of an unusual situation: A blind horse had gotten out of its fenced area and wandered onto a neighbor’s property, where it had fallen into an inground swimming pool and became stuck.

Madison Township Fire Department, the first responders on the scene, knew exactly what to do: They requested a neighboring township’s large animal rescue unit to assist.

A photo taken at the scene shows first responders gently leading the animal out of its predicament. The horse was safely removed from the pool and appeared to be unharmed.
