At least six were killed in a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck about 13 miles north-northeast of Hualien on Taiwan's eastern coast late Tuesday night. At least five buildings collapsed due to the earthquake.

Officials say that two of the fatalities were employees at Hualien Marshal Hotel, which collapsed when the quake struck, trapping at least 29 people. At least 200 people have been injured in the quake, according to local media. Rescue workers continue to search for more than 70 people who are still missing.

At least seven buildings have collapsed, and some, like an apartment building in the area, are standing at a 45 degree angle after the tremblor.
