Britain was hit by two major winter storms within the past month, Winter Storm Emma, the most recent, striking March 1 and 2. Now, the U.K. is preparing for what is dubbed "The Beast from the East 2.0," after a late February storm that hit the region.

Friday seemed to be the calm before the storm, with Fahrenheit temperatures in the 50s. London residents flocked to local parks to reap the benefits of the spring teaser. Daffodils were in full bloom at Kew Gardens in Richmond, and young lambs frolicked at Romney Marsh in Kent as seen in the slideshow above.

Wintry weather is expected to move in Friday evening, with overnight snows that will intensify on Saturday, The Guardian reported. The U.K. Met Office has issued an amber warning, predicting the worst of the storm for Sunday in most of England and parts of Scotland. The warning means that travel delays are likely, as well as possible cancellations in rail and air transportation.

Met Office meteorologist Mark Wilson said, according to The Guardian, "The best way to describe this is as a real return to wintry conditions. The last couple of days have been quite mild across parts of the U.K. —we got to about 16C (60.8 degrees Fahrenheit) yesterday in Wales — but by tomorrow all of us will be back to very cold weather."

Wilson then went on to describe the approaching temperatures as "bitterly cold," dropping to around freezing, but with wind chill that will make it seem even colder. However, the upcoming snowstorm will likely not be as intense as its forebearer or Winter Storm Emma.
