By Thursday morning, the storm's impacts were clear. More than 100,000 homes and businesses were in the dark and schools remained closed in several areas, including Boston Public Schools. The snowstorm was mostly unwelcomed, as residents expressed their desire to get out of the current pattern of frequent coastal storms and on to warmer spring weather.

"We're supposed to be getting ready for Easter, not a nor'easter," Raeme Dempsey told the Associated Press in Philadelphia.
