Over 78,000 spectators filled the seats inside Luzhniki Stadium, one of 12 venues for this year’s matches. Located in Moscow, the Luzhniki Stadium can hold over 81,000 people. The remaining 11 venues are dispersed across 1,800 miles where 64 matches will be played.

To mark this time in history, drone photographers part of a group called Air Pano flew around every stadium to capture the stadiums from above. Some are high perspective shots while others created a mini spherical world.

“We wanted, as we usually do, to photograph stadiums in the best artistic and technical quality,” said Sergey Rumyanstev, CEO of Air Pano. The goal of the photo project was to provide a virtual means of travel for audiences who couldn’t visit each venue.
