Powerful Typhoon Mangkhut has taken the lives of dozens in the Philippines and China. On Monday, it weakened to a tropical storm, but its impacts were still felt on China’s southern coast.

In China, more than 2.4 million people were evacuated. The Hong Kong Observatory said Mangkhut was the most powerful storm to hit the city since 1979.
