Flooding rains from Storm Christoph and melting snow has inundated parts of the United Kingdom, forcing evacuation of more than 2,000 homes.

Christoph is the first named storm of 2021 to hit the region.

The storm brought 7.9 inches of rain to some locations on Tuesday and Wednesday, and evacuations were ordered late Wednesday in Manchester and North Wales. Some of those evacuated were allowed to return to their homes in Didsbury in Manchester on Thursday.
