Topanga Canyon, California, area residents who were evacuated due to the Palisades Fire were allowed to return home and Los Angeles Fire Department tweeted that the fire was 32% contained Tuesday afternoon.

The evacuation warning for Pacific Palisades, California, remains in effect as firefighters continue to battle the flames.

The Palisades Fire began Friday night about 18 miles west of Los Angeles, and officials quickly deemed the fire "suspicious."

One person has been arrested in connection to the fire, ABC7 reported.

The fire burned more than two square miles and is located in difficult terrain along steep hillsides, and the vegetation in the area hasn't burned in half a century, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
