A confirmed tornado touched down late Sunday evening in Chicago’s southwestern suburbs, damaging homes and injuring several people.

The hardest hit areas were Naperville and Woodridge, Illinois. The City of Naperville’s Transportation, Engineering and Development Business Group deemed sixteen homes uninhabitable after the storm. The city had received 125 reports of property damage as of early Monday morning.

Five people in Naperville were hospitalized and one person was reported to have critical injuries.

At least 75 structures were damaged in Woodridge, just east of Naperville, but no significant injuries were reported in the town.

Photos show significant damage in Woodridge, Naperville and Darien, Illinois, such as homes with roofs and walls torn off and scattered debris and tree branches.
