Tropical Storm Elsa is bringing heavy rain, gusty winds and the threat of a few tornadoes through the Northeast Friday.

Parts of the Northeast are under tropical storm warnings on Friday. The storm was located about 90 miles southwest of Montauk Point, New York, Friday morning.

Tropical Storm Elsa tore down trees in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Thursday, and spread heavy rain and winds as it tracked up the East Coast.

Elsa spawned tornadoes across the Southeast Wednesday evening. A driver was killed in Jacksonville, Florida, Wednesday as Elsa's heavy wind send a tree into the car the driver was operating.

A tornado flipped RVs and trailers, injuring about 10 people at a campground on Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in southern Georgia at about 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday. None of the injuries were life threatening.

Tropical Storm Elsa made landfall near Steinhatchee, Florida, around 11 a.m. Wednesday, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.

Elsa will track through New England Friday, bringing a threat of flooding rainfall, gusty winds and possible tornadoes.
