At least 38 people have died due to flooding in Turkey this week. Dozens of people are still missing.

The city of Bozkurt in the Kastamonu region was the hardest hit. Most of the deaths occurred in the region, where the heavy rain triggered mudslides and floodwaters reached 10 to 13 feet in some areas.

More than 1,700 people were evacuated from Kastamonu, and dozens of people were rescued from rooftops by helicopters.

The flooding also affected Bartin province, where at least 13 people were injured when a section of a bridge collapsed. Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency reported that five bridges collapsed in the floods and two others were damaged.

More than 100 villages are without electricity, according to officials.
