Heavy snow fell across parts of the Rockies as the region sees its first major winter storm of the season. Photos show scattered branches in Hyrum, Utah, where locals reported power outages.

Some areas in Utah may have seen more than 11 inches, the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City tweeted.

North central and southwest Montana smashed its snowfall record for October 11 with 7 inches of snow. The previous record was 4 inches in 2016.
