Protests continued across Europe this weekend as COP26, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, headed into its second week.

COP26 was set to take place in 2020, but was postponed to this fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The summit is taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, through November 12.

Activists gathered in Glasgow across the River Clyde from where COP26 is being held, but also in London; Birmingham, U.K.; Lisbon, Portugal; Amsterdam, Netherlands and other locations.

Many protesters intended to pressure leaders into real progress in fighting climate change, with signs reading "No more blah blah blah," and "We are watching you." Environmental activist Greta Thunberg made appearances at the protests in Glasgow, and according to the Associated Press, she accused world leaders and government officials attending the conference of “pretending to take our future seriously.”
