Flooding and power outages were reported in Hawaii Monday night into Tuesday as days of heavy rainfall took their toll.

Gov. David Ige declared a state of emergency for all islands as the flooding worsened. Several people needed to be rescued as the floodwaters rose and entered homes, according to Hawaii News Now.

On Monday, five boys between the ages of 9 and 10 had to be rescued when they were swept into a swollen creek, the Associated Press reported via the Honolulu Fire Department.

At Pearl Harbor, events to mark the attack 80 years ago were scheduled to go on as planned Tuesday despite the inclement weather.

Honolulu received 7.92 inches of rain Monday, the second-wettest day on record. On March 5, 1958, the city received a record 15.32 inches.
