Here's a look at Winter Storm Kenan as it battered the Northeast on Saturday.

A powerful winter storm pounded the Northeast Saturday, dumping more than a foot of snow in some areas and flooding streets in others.

More than 120,000 power outages were reported across Massachusetts, travel was banned in Rhode Island and thousands of flights were canceled at major airports.

And where people did go out, it generally didn't end well.

On Sunday, power outages dropped, travel resumed, communities shoveled out and surfers took to the beach.
