Temperatures in the 20s might not seem cold to those who live in the northern parts of the country, but in Florida, that's a record.

The mercury dipped below freezing - and lower - across parts of Central Florida Saturday night and into Sunday morning, including a record daily low of 28 degrees in Lakeland, located in Polk County between Tampa and Orlando.

That's near the heart of Florida's strawberry industry in Plant City, and also where many citrus groves are located.

Farmers sprayed water to pre-coat their plants with ice, which provides insulation against the bitter cold.

And tourists? They put on their coats to visit the beach.
