Powerful Storms Continue In California (PHOTOS)

Rain resumes in California on Friday after a brief break. Multiple storms have hit California since late December, killing at least 17 and bringing flooding rain, damaging winds, dangerous surf and mudslides as well as snow to higher elevations.

More than half of California's counties, 31 of the state's 58 counties, were declared disaster areas earlier in the week.

P​hotos show homes throughout the state surrounded by floodwaters as well as sinkholes and other damage caused by the recent storms. Images in the slideshow above also display damage that has occurred throughout California over the last three weeks.

M​ore than 19,000 California customers were without power Friday F, according to PowerOutage.us.
