Hurricane Florence's strongest band of rain and wind yet is now moving through eastern North Carolina. Sustained hurricane force winds have been recorded at Cape Lookout, North Carolina, but a wind gust of 99 mph was recently reported at Fort Macon, North Carolina.

Wind gusts over 80 mph have been recorded in several spots this evening. 


Current Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings


Water levels continue to rise in eastern North Carolina, flooding New Bern and the Neuse River as winds furiously push water westward across Pamlico Sound.

Florence will strike the Carolinas overnight into Friday with life-threatening storm surge, destructive winds and massive inland rainfall flooding.
