Rainy Start To The Work Week On Tap For East Coast

Body: While many of us across the Eastern U.S. are enjoying a chilly, dry Halloween weekend, a combination of systems will bring widespread showers, some heavy, from the Southeast to Northeast. For most interior areas in the Southeast, rainfall amounts around a quarter inch will be likely, with a few isolated pockets across upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina remaining mostly dry. Near the coast, rainfall amounts near or exceeding one inch will be likely as a coastal low develops off the South Carolina coast. Across the Northeast, rainfall will also be mostly light with the majority of the Northeast seeing a quarter inch of rainfall or less between Monday and Tuesday. A few isolated areas in upstate New York and northern New Hampshire could see locally higher amounts. Otherwise, the showers will remain light for most.
