The Lyrid meteor shower will start picking up on Thursday, with the best viewing in the early morning hours. The Lyrids peak on the night of April 21 into early morning on April 22. A bright quarter moon might make it a little harder to see, but there are plenty of other things in the night sky this week, including Venus in the East, also in the early morning, plus the constellations Hydra and Leo.
