Atmospheric River To Slam Northern California Into Next Week

Atmospheric rivers continue to soak the West, bringing heavy rainfall, gusty winds and mountain snowfall. The latest event is set to ramp up for Northern and Central California over the weekend and is expected to last into the upcoming week. Flood watches are in effect through the next several days, where widespread rainfall of 3-6 inches is expected through Thursday and isolated totals across higher elevations could exceed 6 inches. Cities like Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Francisco could see a month's worth of rainfall this upcoming week. Feet of mountain snowfall is also possible across the Cascades and the Sierra Nevada.
