The U.S. Department of the Interior's Instagram page is one of the most underrated treasures on the social platform. It's a gateway into the most beautiful lands in our nation, and even if you've been to the parks, you're guaranteed to see the landscapes in a new light.

But the account's under-the-radar status is quickly vanishing. In the past year, the Interior has gone from about 385,000 Instagram followers to more than 870,000. It's quickly becoming one of the most popular government accounts on the photo-sharing app – a well-deserved honor.

At the top of this page is a gallery of the 25 photos that received the most likes from the Interior's account this year. The stats are through Dec. 10, and each of the top 25 photos got more than 33,000 likes.
