At least 20 tornadoes have been confirmed throughout the Plains, Midwest and South in a round of severe storms that has also brought damaging wind gusts and flash flooding.

The severe weather took a deadly turn in Mississippi and Georgia, contributing to wet roads that led to fatal car crashes involving two teen drivers.

These storms also dumped heavy rainfall that wasn't needed in areas like Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Flash flooding in Alabama washed away a railroad bridge Friday morning, causing a 22-car train derailment near Opelika. According to authorities, no one was injured and no hazardous materials were involved.
