Wednesday morning, the system moved east into Colorado, and several inches of snow were reported in the Denver area. The higher elevations reported as much as a foot of snow, more in some localized areas, giving the ski resorts plenty of new powder. East of Denver, conditions rapidly worsened, and blowing snow dropped visibilities to dangerous levels. As a result, schools were canceled in some areas, and travel was discouraged.
