NFL Week 7 Weather Forecast: Rain, Wind Likely In Cleveland And London

The weather could make some games more interesting than they appear on paper this Sunday. Here's our forecast and fantasy advice.

The NFL's Week 7 slate features several games in which weather may play a factor, including a game overseas in London.

Let's take a look at those weather games, the forecast, and how it could affect the game and your fantasy lineup.

London Soaking

The latest in the NFL's International Games is an intriguing matchup this Sunday between the Los Angeles Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars, both with 4-2 records, at London's Wembley Stadium.

Unfortunately for the players, the stadium's roof only covers the fans. Occasional rain is likely, accompanied by brisk southerly winds.

Potential game impact:

The rain and wind could lead to more dropped passes, errant passes, fumbles and players losing their footing.

That may be good news for the Jaguars, tied for the best turnover margin in the NFL (plus 8). Even though the Rams have the NFL's fifth-best offense by yards per game, the Jags' defense could be a sleeper fantasy play if you're in a pinch in your fantasy league, given the conditions.

I would also be careful with either kicker in fantasy. Teams may only resort to shorter field goals given the conditions, and each kicker may struggle with their footing on the wet field.

Sorry, Miami

South Florida weather is often the envy of the nation once the state's dry season kicks in. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, this Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns is a road game.

It's too soon for snow, but the weather looks downright awful along the lakeshore with both rain and strong winds howling through Huntington Bank Field.

But look at the bright side. This battle between a pair of 1-5 teams may end up being one of the most compelling to watch, due to the weather.

Potential game impact:

This is the last thing the Dolphins needed. Already facing the NFL's third-ranked defense, now the struggling offense has to battle both rain and wind. I would bench any Dolphin on my fantasy team.

You're already starting the Browns' elite defense, and they could feast on the Dolphins trying to move the ball in the awful weather.

With a rookie starting quarterback, the Browns may also opt to ride rookie running back Quinshon Judkins. If you need a No. 3 running back, I'd definitely start him Sunday. But beware of the potential for fumbles, given the wet conditions.

Other Potential Weather Headaches

New Orleans Saints (1-5) at Chicago Bears (3-2)

It looks like a dome team will have to battle the elements, as well as the Bears. We'll see if the rain moves out of Chicago by the noon CDT kickoff. But wind will likely linger, regardless.

If the lingering wind is strong enough, it could be a headache for both quarterbacks, Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams. Running backs Alvin Kamara and D'Andre Swift could be sneaky fantasy plays against each team's rush defense if they get more carries in the windy conditions.

New England Patriots (4-2) at Tennessee Titans (1-5)

The latest forecast suggests any rain or thunderstorms should be over by kickoff of Mike Vrabel's return to Nashville as the Patriots' new head coach. But there still could be some nagging breezes.

You're likely not starting any Titans in fantasy. But if the winds are strong enough, you may want to temper your expectations a tad, at least for Patriots kicker Andy Borregales.

The Patriots' defense, already a strong fantasy play for the week, could get stronger if Titans quarterback Cam Ward has to lead the league's worst offense through a windy game.

Carolina Panthers (3-3) at New York Jets (0-6)

For now, it looks like rain will hold off as the winless Jets return home from last week's game in London. Temperatures should also be pleasant by mid-October standards.

So why are we mentioning this game?

Again, it's the wind. We expect gusty south winds through MetLife Stadium. That's another challenge for two young quarterbacks, Bryce Young and Justin Fields.

The upstart Panthers may opt to lean on the NFL's fourth-best rushing attack, including the red-hot Rico Dowdle, instead of trying to air it out in the wind.

That also makes the Panthers' defense a good sleeper option this week against one of the league's worst offenses.
