Thursday was the first day of one of the most prestigious events on the PGA tour, but golf fans already knew that. So we won’t bog you down with why this tournament is so iconic (annual celebration of one of the most iconic golfers), but weather.com loves sports like you all do, and betting is always fun. So why not make some money together?

The forecast this weekend is nearly perfect. Clear skies and a light breeze, is there any better weather to golf in? Expect 86-degree weather in Orlando Friday and Saturday, and then 83 degrees and sunshine to close out the final day of the invitational on Sunday.

The golf course at the invitational is definitely a challenging one. This Florida track stretches out to 7,466 yards with 84 bunkers and requires all golfers to be on their toes from the first swing. It’s also a common occurrence for this course to be hit with strong winds, so the best golfers to put your money on here are the ones who are long off the tee and accurate, which also brings us to our first picks of the day.

This isn’t a risk here, but it is plus money. The outright winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational will be Scottie Scheffler (+570). No golfer in the world has been hotter than Scheffler over the last 24 months. Since March 2024, Scheffler has won 14 events, which includes three major championships, and back-to-back PGA Tour Player of the Year awards. If he can kick the slow starts that have haunted him in his last few competitions, there is a very good shot of him coming out on top.

A sleeper pick is Ludvig Aberg (+950). Aberg is long off the tee and is a power hitter, which will do him well on this course. He entered Bay Hill riding high off a breakout year that included a PGA Tour victory and a runner-up finish at the 2024 Masters. The Swede is known for having one of the most consistent driving games in golf. On a challenging course like Bay Hill, where precision, distance control, and power can make or break you, this course actually plays into Aberg’s hand. He would be a great bet for a top 10 finish (-210).
