Cold, dense air and strong northeast winds at Chicago's Wrigley Field are expected to suppress offense in today's Angels-Cubs matchup, while Seattle and Arizona games offer value betting opportunities on pitching performances and total runs.

Opening Week was last week, and now the baseball season is in full swing, pun intended. We’ve covered soccer well, and we’ve found success in our weather-based bets for golf, too. So obviously it’s time to tackle the biggest beast of them all, America’s pastime. Let’s get this money!

The forecast for our three games today is actually very weather-dependent, especially the game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Chicago Cubs. Strong north/northeast winds at Wrigley Field, combined with cold, dense air, should knock down fly balls today, limiting power and favoring a lower-scoring game.

While the conditions might create some inconsistency with pitching command, the overall environment leans toward suppressed offense and fewer home run chances so the first bet of the day: Under 6 (-105). With the high winds expected, I think both teams will struggle to generate consistent offense. If anyone will go yard in this game, I’d rock with Mike Trout (+560); he’s a power hitter regardless of the weather, and he has started the season on fire with two home runs already.

Aaron Judge #99, José Caballero #72, Jazz Chisholm Jr. #13, Cody Bellinger #35 and Trent Grisham #12 of the New York Yankees celebrate their win against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on March 31, 2026 in Seattle, Washington.

The next game on our slate is the New York Yankees vs Seattle Mariners. This game won’t be affected because T-Mobile Park is a domed stadium, so even though there is over a 90 percent chance of rain, this game will go on! Lean into Cam Schlittler, the Yankees' emerging young star pitcher. Take Schlittler 7+ strikeouts (+137). I foresee another Yankee star continuing to struggle. Aaron Judge has been a strikeout machine to start the season. I see more of the same. Sprinkle some money on Judge 3+ strikeouts (+650).

The last game of the day for us is the Detroit Tigers vs the Arizona Diamondbacks. Weather won’t be a factor in this one either, so I’m leaning into one of the game’s best. The two-time reigning Cy Young Award winner, Tarik Skubal, is recognized as one of the best pitchers in the game, and he will prove that tonight. The Tigers are favored, but if you’re looking for plus money, take Skubal to record a win (+101). Also, let’s stay with the Tigers for the final bet of the night: Tigers OVER 4.5 runs (+100).
