Champions League Quarterfinals Weather And Betting

The quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League are finally here! We get to see the top football clubs around the world face off in the first leg, and we have some juicy matchups. To make it even better, the weather will definitely be a factor in some of these matches. Let’s break it all down.

Out of the four quarterfinal matches this week, two have the potential to be affected by rain. Lisbon, Portugal, can expect rain showers throughout the day. It could clear up around the start of the match, but more showers could move in around gametime with a 40-50% chance around kickoff. Real Madrid could face off against Bayern Munich on a wet pitch due to on-and-off rainfall throughout the day, but it should clear up before game time. The good thing is that each of these teams is accustomed to, and built for, playing in the rain - so these matches should go on without a hitch. Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid under clear skies, and expect similar conditions when the reigning champs, Paris Saint-Germain, face Liverpool in Paris.

Y’all ready to make some money? We are going to give two bets for each match. Starting with Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich, my first bet will be on the goal scorers. Both teams are high-scoring offenses, so expect more of the same. Take Kylian Mbappe (+110) and Michael Olise (+265) to each find the back of the net. Harry Kane is scheduled to return from an ankle injury, and he leads the team in shots and goals, so I like him for 2+ shots (+105). The leg 1 winner? Real Madrid hasn't lost to Bayern in their last nine outings, and somehow, they are still the underdog. Take the Real Madrid moneyline (+190).

Next on the docket is Sporting Lisbon vs Arsenal. Lisbon is the Cinderella story of the Champions League this year. But like most Cinderella stories, the clock eventually strikes midnight. Hammer the Arsenal moneyline (-130). If you want some plus money here, the best bet would be Arsenal first-half 3-way moneyline (+125). Arsenal will grab an early lead and have Lisbon playing catch-up the rest of the match. Goal-wise? I’m going to lean on Bukayo Saka (+280) here.

The match with the cleanest weather will be PSG vs Liverpool. Maybe Liverpool would have a better shot if the field were wet, but PSG is just a much better team. It’s not an if here, more of a how much will PSG win by. Take their first-half 3-way moneyline here (+115). Liverpool have scored in 16 of their last 18, and PSG can’t keep a clean sheet at home right now… so let’s get a little spicy. Give me a correct score of 3-1 PSG (+900).

Last, but not least, is the iconic Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid. This should be another lopsided one as Barcelona just outclasses Atletico here. No real money in the moneyline, so let's go with moneyline/total. I’m leaning towards Barcelona to win in a low-scoring game, under 2.5 (+475). Atletico Madrid will play hard, but after conceding early goals, they will try not to get embarrassed, so take the second-half 3-way moneyline draw here (+200). Lastly, sprinkle some money on the wonderkid, Lamine Yamal (+120), to score his first career goal against Atletico.
