Bare-chested fans, beware: Sunday afternoon's NFL postseason game in Minneapolis would be a downright dangerous place to go shirtless.

The Minnesota Vikings will host the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the NFL Playoffs Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET, and the team has warned its fans against going shirtless in the stands, Minnesota Public Radio reported. With temperatures expected to remain near zero at kickoff, there's a very real risk that underdressed fans could quickly suffer from hypothermia.

"We want our fans to be smart and safe when they are supporting the team," Vikings owner Mark Wilf said in a statement.

It's possible that this will be one of the 10 coldest games in NFL history, and the teams have prepared accordingly. According to USA Today, the teams will be provided with specially designed underwear for brutal cold, supplied by Minnesota-based WSI Sports.

In addition to the frigid temperatures, winds will make it feel even worse for everyone outside in the elements. At kickoff, wind chills could be near minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

ESPN.com said Sunday's game could break a record for the coldest Vikings game ever. Their Dec. 3, 1972 game against the Chicago Bears at Metropolitan Stadium had a kickoff temperature of 2 below zero. The wind chill that day was minus 26, according to NFL.com. That's believed to be the sixth-coldest NFL game ever; their game against the Green Bay Packers a week later at the same location was the seventh-coldest, NFL.com's records show, with a kickoff temperature of zero and a wind chill of minus 18.

MPR also reported the Vikings will have several options for fans to warm up inside and outside the stadium. Nearby Mariucci Arena will be open to fans as a warming center from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., and they'll be distributing a limited number of hand-warmers inside TCF Bank Stadium, the report said. Caribou Coffee will provide free cups of coffee in the Fan Zone, and blankets will be allowed into the stadium as long as they're not battery-powered.

"We know Minnesotans are resilient when it comes to cold weather and unified when it comes to the Vikings, so we view this Sunday's game as a rallying moment," Wilf added in his statement.
