Doctors are blaming the deaths of three soccer fans in China on sleep exhaustion.



Sure, you may have taken a long lunch Thursday to watch the USA vs. Germany World Cup match, but that's nothing compared to the so-called World Cup Fever that's blamed for three deaths in China.

Most of China's games have been scheduled after midnight Beijing-time, so people are staying up late to watch.

As weather.com's Matt Sampson explains in the video above, officials say sleep exhaustion played a role in each of the reported deaths.

Chinese fans have also been buying fake doctor's notes online to get them out of work after long soccer-watching nights, Xinhua News Agency reports.
