Adventure doesn't stop after the sun sets. In the slideshow above, Red Bull athletes — from snowboarders to freerunners — are captured performing extreme moves  at night. And while climbers such as Will Gadd and cliff diver Orlando Duque perform spectacular and death-defying feats of athleticism at all times of the day, their achievements look even more dramatic when lit by the moon.

Red Bull has held many extreme sports events that take advantage of the dramatic night setting. In 2013, Red Bull teamed up with photographer Marcelo Maragni for the Red Bull Surfing Lights project at the Wadi Adventure in the United Arab Emirates, featuring Brazilian pro surfers Adriano de Souza and Pedro "Scooby" Viana. Surfboards were installed with lights and world-class surfers were photographed at night with the use of strobes. The result? Photographic magic.

One of Red Bull's most dramatic moments came in August 2013 from world-champion cliff diver Orlando Duque, who took a "Poseidon plunge" by ancient ruins in Cape Sounio, Greece.  A full moon cast an eerie glow over Duque as he stood and jumped from a 65ft cliff. Below him, the sacred water beneath the Temple of Poseidon awaited.

“It was the most natural and atmospheric dive I have ever made,” said Duque. “I felt really close to nature, standing on a cliff surrounded by darkness. The amazing energy of the full moon and the ancient temple created a unique atmosphere, urging me to do the dive in the dark waters beneath me.”
