Oscar Recap

Oscar had the smallest hurricane-force wind field on record in the satellite era when it developed rapidly on Saturday to the north of Hispaniola. It formed just hours after Tropical Storm Nadine, which tracked into Belize and southern Mexico on Saturday.

Oscar made its second landfall on Sunday around 5:50 p.m. ET along the coast of eastern Cuba as a Category 1 hurricane, after making its first landfall over Great Inagua Island in the southeast Bahamas just over 12 hours earlier Sunday morning.

The hurricane brought heavy rain and strong winds to both of those areas.
