TSA Workers Get Emergency Pay After 6-Week Shutdown

4 hours agoUpdated: March 29, 2026, 10:31 am EDTPublished: March 29, 2026, 10:31 am EDT

Nearly 50,000 TSA officers will finally receive paychecks after working six weeks without pay during the Department of Homeland Security shutdown that began Valentine's Day. Major airports across the country experienced massive security delays during spring break as over 450 officers quit and others called out to work second jobs. Emergency funds will start being released Monday, though questions remain about how long the solution will last if the shutdown continues.
