Invest 92L: Rain, Rough Surf For Southeast

July 4, 2025

An area of low pressure has now formed about 100 miles off the northeast Florida coast and has been designated Invest 92L by the National Hurricane Center. Development chances continue to increase, and Invest 92L could strengthen into a short-lived tropical or subtropical depression as early as Friday if it remains over water. If we get a named storm, the next name on the list is Chantal. Regardless of development, heavy rain looks likely across Florida on the Fourth of July with rain chances increasing and rough surf across the Southeast coast this weekend.
