Tropical Storm Gabrielle is holding steady for now, but is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane later this weekend as it moves into a more favorable environment. Gabrielle is expected to pass east of Bermuda, but how close it will get is the big question. Either way, large swells should reach Bermuda this weekend, bringing dangerous surf and a high risk for rip currents. A new tropical wave has moved off the coast of Africa, so that disturbance will need to be watched for potential slow development next week.
